A multi award winner Ruhi Karadag is a director, producer and writer. He was born in Turkey. Karadag faced many trials and tribulations himself as he has been documenting Turkey’s last 30 years of political and socio-economic past, particularly focusing on Human Rights, Kurdish Question, state violence and massacres. He worked for various national newspapers and directed many tv shows, feature films and documentaries.
Jonell Rowe | Festival Jury, Host and Coordinator
Jonell Rowe is a London-based writer, director, editor and producer, who first ventured into the arts through studying drama and fine art at The BRIT School of performing arts. After graduating in 2011 with both a BTEC National and extended diploma in drama, Jonell went on to complete a writers course at the Lyric Hammersmith theatre in 2012 and along with other creatives, founded the production company 'Lionstooth films'.
Jonell Rowe graduated from the University of Bristol with a BA in Film and Television. where he has directed four student short films and was the tech representative of the film departmental society.
He has worked on a number of award winning short films in the last year.
Paige Bates | Director, Filmmaker & Festival Coordinator
PAIGE BATES was classically trained at BRIT school where she played characters such as ‘Anya’ from Anton Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard or ‘Jane Seymour’ in Howard Breton’s Anne Boleyn. She continued to study Theatre and Performance Arts and even enjoyed studying Psychology during her degree to understand different personalities.
Paige has been seen in short educational films such as Value Life directed by Manny Bonett. In 2015 she started her own multi-media company with two other women from her course, where they toured their original play Many Faces of a Diamond in both London and America. In the year of 2018, Paige debuted as a director, with a play called 58Days shown at The Space in the Isle Of Dogs. After a successful show and an enjoyable experience, Paige continued directing and has now directed music videos and conceptional art pieces.
Jomy Jai | Head of Music & Soundtrack, Musician & Producer
Jomy Jai is a London based musician-arranger who comes from a family of musicians. He met the music at a very young age, then sharpened his piano , percussion ,cello and singing skills in his teenager years and after receiving his BMus degree, he started to create his unique touch that inspires from the vibrations of the subcultures and the nature itself. He makes genre-blending jazz, electronic, and world music with avant-garde influences of his cultural roots.

Aaron Gill | Actor, Event Host & Coordinator

He has been part of the LCFA right from the start. Helping expand and grow the event through his love and interest in film and acting. He has hosted every event from 2018.
He has written and played in a number of shorts films and theatre shows throughout the last few years. Aaron is an active artist, constantly looking to grow creatively through collaborations.
Zong Chiang | Head of Composing, Score and Asia Representative
Zong Chiang is a versatile multi-instrumental musician and awards winning composer. Currently based in Los Angeles & Taipei, he is active in film, game, and television as well as music and pop music industries. His creative style is diverse and his style leaves a profound impression. Zong specializes in composing for the big screen, orchestral arrangements, and combining diverse electronic and symphonic musical elements to create music that fascinates the senses.
Hailed as one of the youngest musical prodigies in Taiwan, 25-year-old Zong Chiang began composing at the age of 10, and became the youngest-ever Chinese record producer at the age of 12. By the age of 17, in collaboration with directors, Chiang began composing for commercial productions. In 2014, at the invitation of the mayor and educational commissioner of Shanghai, Zong, a high school student at the time, performed at the opening ceremony of the 12th National Sports Competition for Secondary Education in Shanghai, China. In 2018, he embarked on a global campus tour that took him from San Francisco to Shanghai to Taipei, performing at four different venues. His remarkable stage presence, exceptional musical talent, and the pioneering global collaboration featured in his inaugural tour caught the attention of major media outlets in Taiwan and China, and was covered by cable TV as well as Yahoo’s entertainment portal. In 2018, Zong’s “The Traveler・101” was selected as the ambient soundtrack for the Taipei 101 stop of the city’s subway system. As the designated ambient music representing one of Taiwan’s most renowned landmarks, this unique masterpiece garnered critical acclaim from the media.
Zong has already produced over 10 solo albums to date and over 100 original compositions. His original creations are featured in a wide array of productions spanning from television dramas and films to documentaries and advertisements.
He has recently gathered an international team of musicians including elite American performers, Taiwanese pop music producers, and a musical planning group based in Shanghai. Zong also works closely with the film and video game communities in San Francisco as well as leading artists around the world, producing innovative masterpieces, including creations that showcase new ideas resulting from cross-border cooperation.
From 2020 to 2021, Zong received around 30 different awards from global film festivals and awards on his soundtrack album: Ama’s Momento, Dear Mom, US, The Power of Civilization, and so on.
Zong received his B.A. in Technology and Applied Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Technology and Applied Composition; and in fall 2019, he will enroll in the Master of Music—Screen Scoring program at the USC Thornton School of Music
Moses Ssembandeke | Festival Jury, Director & Filmmaker
Moses Ssebandeke Bio: Moses Ssebandeke is a Filmmaker. Moses started filmmaking in 2007. Since then he has made films in Germany, Ghana and South Africa. His Film “Patient 4318” was screened on National television as well as being screened in Hollywood LA in 2015 at the African American Film market. In 2012 Moses started to perform stand up Comedy and in 2013 he was selected to take part in a prestigious apprenticeship with BBC comedy. Which involved him writing with and finding possible new writers as well. In 2016 he worked as an assistant producer at CBBC and worked on a freelance contract at BBC children. Where he produced, edited and directed content for the CBBC and CBeebies Youtube and Iplayer page. This content received millions of views at the time. In 2017 Moses Ssebandeke's script Mary's Room was shortlisted by Creative England to be a part of the Shortflix programme; this same script was also developed by BFI. Moses has written and directed many award-winning short films. That has been screened on the BBC. He also wrote and directed a BBC Africa/art interactive drama starring Brit award winner Stormzy. Moses recently graduated with a postgraduate diploma in Writing and producing comedy from the BAFTA-winning National Film and Television School. A course that is sponsored by Channel 4 and Netflix. He has also had two short plays staged at the Laurence Oliver winning theatre 503 in south London. In 2018 Moses won the screen skills short film award for his short film "Reflection" This film was screened at BFI (The British Film Institute) His other short film "distance" was screened in Budapest and won the "Channel 4 values award". Moses’ Graduation Film “Insta Grim” Won best African Diaspora film at the 23rd African Film awards. He is the co-founder of the film collective Lionstooth with the help of his cohorts to produce both innovative shorts and content. They have had several sold screenings at both BAFTA and Channel 4. Moses just directed a Lockdown feature that will be out soon.

Utku Can Bozkurt | Head of Animation & Festival Jury
Born in Bristol, raised in Istanbul, Utku Can Bozkurt has a very culturally diverse and adaptive background. Coming from an artist family, he was raised in a creative environment, from museums around the world, both art and historic, to paintings made at home, he was immersed in it. This has allowed him to have a different and more creative outlook on life.
Can has opened his own animation production company, Ashen Wolf Productions, after completing his Masters in Character animation from Central Saint Martins. He's worked with various clients such as City Explorer, BBC Scotland and Orlo to name a few.
Ozgur Karakaya | Head of Documentary & Festival Jury
A versatile and skilled documentary filmmaker, cinematographer and video editor. He studied Film & TV Production in Cambridge School of Art; he then completed his MA in Documentary Filmmaking at Goldsmiths. He has taken part in many feature length and short film projects as a camera operator, editor and director since 2002.
Abylay Zhakashov | Festival Jury
Abylay Zhakashov is an award-winning film producer based in Los Angeles, CA.
With the blessings of his parents, he moved to America after schooling at the age of 17. In 2017 he founded the production company, Broken Cage Studio, located in Los Angeles, CA.
During these 2 years he solely produced 3 feature films, all in different genre - horror, prison break archive story and family drama.
